Posted on 26th September 2012 in Blog category.

Atkins, the Cabbage Soup diet, the bizarre maple syrup/grapefruit and cayenne pepper version… fad diets – been there, done that. For a good couple of years now Boot Camps, like ours here at NuBeginnings have been all the rage. How to ignore the detractors

Posted on 17th September 2012 in Blog category.

It’s difficult enough embarking on an exercise programme without being told by our nearest and dearest that we’ll “never stick it out” or that “it’s futile” because we’ll just go back to our old ways once we’ve achieved what we set out to do. That’s why Boot Camps are so successful – because there’s support… Read More

Celebs and their exercise routines

Posted on 14th September 2012 in Blog category.

Well folks, when we decided to write about celebs and their exercise routines, we knew it was going to be tough. Talk about restricting ourselves! That’s because every celeb on the planet it seems has a workout regime. If it’s not a personal coach coming to drag them out of bed at 5am then it’s… Read More

Hankering after some healthy habits?

Posted on 8th September 2012 in Blog category.

Often embarking on the new season can be  just the stimulus we need for creating a ‘new you.’ By that I mean changing those habits that we know aren’t doing us any good weight-wise but seem so difficult to break. We change our clothes, footwear and even our make-up for fall and winter after all…. Read More

What about just snacking with your other hand?

Posted on 6th September 2012 in Blog category.

In a recent study from the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, researchers looked at how certain habits can discourage mindless eating. Findings showed that if participants snacked with their less dominant hand they ate 30% less than snacking with their dominant hand. Thirty percent less could amount to a fair few calories depending on your… Read More
